New Book by John W. Hickman
The Right Edge of Evil
December 2008
The Patriarch of the Hickman House of Newnan, GA, John Hickman, has published his third book.  The Right Edge of Evil is a Murder Mystery set in Georgia in the 1980's.  Early reader reviews indicate that T.R.E.E. does an excellent job of not revealing the murderer until the suspense filled ending.
T.R.E.E. is available at Scott's Book Store in Downtown Newnan, GA.  You can call the store for directions and quantity at (770) 253-2960.  Follow the link below to find Scott's.

A Day to Remember.

June 25, 2009
Today the entertainment industry and the world mourn the loss of two icons.  As a hospital chaplain I see death everyday expected and unexpected, but I'm still moved by the loss of people I don't know.  At lunch I was touched by the passing of Farrah Fawcett, and later shocked by the loss of Michael Jackson.  As soon as I heard about Farrah, I thought of my cancer patients and their fight and search for hope.  When I heard about Michael, I had a strange feeling that can only be compared to when President Reagan died.  It is simply sad.
I'll remember Farrah for the fight against cancer.  I'll remember Michael for his contribution for integrating African American culture into the larger society through entertainment.
